Multimodal Awareness Project

This was a multi-step project: a position paper including a reflection paper, a community outreach flyer with an audio voiceover, and PowerPoint. This was by far the most difficult assignment I did in this class. The position paper is composed of an introduction, argument, counter-argument, and conclusion. You have to ensure that your topic is something that has a stance, so 2 sides: benefits and disadvantages. The community outreach flyer was a visual aid to present your topic to spread awareness and images to capture the person’s eye along with audio explaining your flyer and navigating it. The PowerPoint is a summary of what your topic is about and includes the argument and counterargument.

There was no specific revision process for this, but we had to write up an explanation of what our topic was and why people need to be aware of it, the professor then decided if it was a substantive topic that has a stance or not.

This was a difficult assignment because I didn’t choose a substantive stance to write on so I had to fix my topic and make it more specific. Reading through multiple examples of position papers, how to write one, and professional resources Professor. Carr provided helped me to do this project to the best of my ability.
